What is the range of a “GPS jammer” and what is the impact on the public?

Lots of the public and businesses use GPS for if someone falls or needs help, tracking vehicles etc.

Surely you can’t just disable GPS in an area these days without knock on impacts to normal people?

(assuming that is what a GPS jammer does)

The US literally owns GPS and can switch it off at the flick of a button. That’s more meant for war times but they do control it.

It owns 'GPS' but not all GNSS services like Galileo.

So what was the US gov. aircraft doing here? Checking up on their embedded spy network?

No idea. Might be an EU import gig or similar. Just something to do with our Jet Register?

I thought the last time this was held here it was held in the Villa Marina? Why is that venue not being used - unless it’s too expensive and COMIS is cheaper?

It was at Comis last time I think, accommodation on site, pool, restaurant, gym, sauna etc
