Good job we're going to build a wind farm. Our credentials are good.

I thought that.  Ironic considering it's mainly to do with Renewables and we have none and will be fannying about not making a decision upon them for years to come.

Does VIP only relate to folk with a stack of cash and Is there any requirement for folk to be good, moral beings?

Possibly, in this case, more to do with political position than cash.

Large private jet took off from airport around lunchtime, maybe bringing the VIPs security guard in.

Surely the only rational response to this is “who cares?”

It's already been patiently explained that the no-drome stuff and all the rest was for the 41st meeting of the British Irish Council, something that has taken place several times on the Island before and for which security procedures will be well-established.  Individual heads of government or their representatives will perhaps bring their own security staff with them (that's rather the point of bodyguards) and additional police carrying out other checks will have arrived earlier, usually by boat because of equipment, dogs etc, just as we saw with the Queen's visit.

Other 'VIPs' are permitted to use IOM Airport.

Maybe the VIP?

With a bit of luck it might be the last meeting   of the  British Irish Council that  bullshitter  Gove gets to attend  sold everyone down the river with Brexit  and every other   tory    promises    no friend to the isle of man or anyone else

I've seen them use the gym carpark for landing helicopters before too.

Certainly interesting, I'll be walking the dog around Comis in the next few days.

Went for a snoop with the dog. Nothing interesting going on. Just a bunch of guys looking like bouncers/car park security. No plate carriers, assault rifles or balaclavas.  Also no lost Domino's drivers driving aimlessly around because GPS has been jammed.
