Moghrey Mie
Only 15 MHKs could be bothered to reply to the survey about the 'election' of a Chief Minister. (In Theme 2 Questions to candidates analysis of responses I think 4 plus 1 should equal 5 not 6 and 6+8+3 makes 17 not 16) https://www.tynwald.org.im/spfile?file=/business/pp/Reports/2024-PP-0051.pdf
Kopek
Problem with 'reform' in our small Parliament is that our MHKs tend to hold their cards close........... .......but if you look at the Bishop and assisted dying votes, radicalism can come to fore??? On the contrary: Speaker Juan Watterson has allowed the Keys to sit tomorrow as well to ensure all parliamentary business is completed. There's also (or by now presumably has been) an urgent question from Moorhouse about the Food and Drink Festival cancellation. Twenty other questions, the Assisted Dying Bill and lots of technical stuff as well. Given that the Steamie is getting its excuses in early and: Passengers have been asked for their ‘patience and understanding’ as the Steam Packet Company ‘gets used to’ the new ferry terminal in Liverpool No MHK is going to touch the Mannanan with a bargepole today. Which may be the only contact it manages with the new Terminal.

She did an 06.45 final test berthing at the new terminal this morning. On her way back now, just off Formby. Departure was 03.45 from Douglas. 09.30 from new terminal. Looks as if she did two or three trial berthings

They are a vain lot that Tynwald bunch, they do not like to lose out on a free lunch, maybe they will let the dust settle and have a grand opening when everything is well polished and fit for operation. Dim Tim was excused from the sitting, I assume he's cutting the ribbon? Is it going to be made of unobtainium?

Moghrey Mie
Lots of debate about how assisted dying service will be regulated and whether professionals can opt in or opt out etc etc It looks as though Jersey has better legislation. https://www.gov.je/Caring/AssistedDying/Pages/AssistedDying.aspx/1000#anchor-5 It is government legislation there not a Private Member's Bill. If it is "better" then let us adopt Jersey legislation as much as possible.
