The question hasn't been separated out on the audio, so I can't be sure without ploughing through the lot. But in any case surely these aren't alternatives? You can complain about specifics directly to the Post Office and also on social media, particularly if it's a repeated problem or you feel your complaint hasn't been dealt with. Stu always takes this position that people should just sort things out quietly, but even if someone does get an individual problem solved, it's only by public criticism and discussion that more serious flaws in the system can be revealed and hopefully addressed. But surely the point is to make sure you complain to the people who can do something about it? If they don't respond and address it then there are other avenues. The problem is, and we see it for all kinds of service providers even restaurants and shops, that people post their gripes on SM but seem never to have raised their complaint with the people they are complaining about. Yes, you can do both, but people shouldn't think that a gripe on SM is going to do much to actually resolve their particular issue.
Non-Believer
The fact is that the querying MHKs are correct. Under pressure from Treasury to provide revenue to help fill the funding gaps, the PO is now prioritising more lucrative parcel delivery (Amazon etc) over mail (letters), time and local processing resources are now prioritised towards the parcels side of things. Further contributing is the fact that sorting was centralised in Douglas long ago. If you post a letter now in say, Port Erin for even a Port Erin delivery (or any other town for same town delivery), that letter is collected and then goes all the way to Douglas for sorting before being returned to PE. But it can lie for well over a day in Douglas awaiting sorting and return to the South. Added up, it can mean delays of up to 4 days between posting and delivery for local letters. How this fits in with the PO obligations to deliver mail ASAP is anybody's guess.

That may well be, and prioritisation of parcels over letters has been an aspect raised in the current Post Office inquiry.
Kopek
It is possible that a facebook 'winge' could attract more attention than a direct to the PO complaint??? May raise more side issues, more complaints and support for the complainant? I'm sure the PO monitor facebook, at least, they should do!!! Do both, but make sure a complaint is made to the PO, without it they can't investigate and you can't escalate it if it unresolved.
Kopek
''....without it they can't escalate '' Rather like the Horizon scandal then>? They can't respond to anonymous complaints!!!!

Nothing like Horizon, the 'complaints' were far from anonymous as they sacked, prosecuted and demanded shortfalls to be made good known individuals. How can you resolve an anonymous complaint? Give them the specifics and ask for a response.
Kopek
Sure but the 'anonymous' response is an excuse to not take it further, often used in many areas of business? It makes a situation known, it is then up to Meta to investigate???

But put yourself in the position of any business or government entity that has complaints against it on SM but not direct to them. Sure, it may alert them that there is an issue, but specifics will help identify what the issue is and address it. Of course, that presupposes that complaints are recognised for what they are and there is a genuine desire to address the issue, but give them the chance.
