Road closure extended until 7pm. All roads.

Very unusual for them to do that.

I understand it's because they have riders stopped all around the course and they need additional time to bring them all back.

The evening churchgoers will be very upset, if there are any these days.

First thoughts are with those involved in and those dealing with what sounds like a serious incident.

The bikes need to be brought back the wrong way around the course apparently after the incident on the mountain. Perhaps a better solution would have been to bring them back along the coast road - Ramsey via Laxey to Douglas. I’m not 100% certain, but I understood that the law is in place for race bikes to use public roads for a certain time after racing?

I thought the clerk stated during the last enquiry that they would never send bikes back the wrong way again?

There’s not much alternative if the course is closed between Bungalow and Creg. It’s got to be safer to send them back, escorted, on closed Roads, than having them on open roads going through Glen Mona, Laxey, Baldrine, Onchan, mixed with ordinary traffic.

good job  they didn't want to use Douglas promenade  while it was the only route to get from north to south and vice versa  total Chaos down there this afternoon , Horse trams running  new rails laid so wide traffic can not pass any more . years ago the trams never ran when the TT course was closed  to avoid traffic congestion,   pity the race organisers couldn't stick to the scheduled roads opening , which said roads open all the way around by 6-pm , people will have missed flights and the evening boat to the UK ,hospital visits  and those who wished to attend church , I believe the serious incident was on the Mountain section , so why was the rest of the course closed and even the crossing points  much to the inconvenience  of the local population ,

I love the TT and MGP  but it should not take  priority over everything else that takes place on a Sunday afternoon  in the Isle of Man  the electronic red flags  need revisiting  its not the BSB and you cant tie down 37.plus miles of Island roads  because a few bikes are in the wrong place  it would have been more practical to let everyone continue to Ramsey and hold them there like they used to do when Locals ran the TT and Manx  who know what they were doing  then bring them all back together
