Re the latest race just announced on Manx Radio, the winner's wife is just about to give birth apparently. Amazing.

Yes when it works in your/their favour it’s a nice story - daughters friend was telling us this week that 18 years ago she was born at Nobles whilst her Dad was in ICU after hitting a stonewall at the S100 - questions about priorities.

What does your Dad do?

"He races motorbikes, has won a MGP narrowly beating 23 time TT winner John MacGuinness."

And yours?

"He sits at home being miserable and whinging about road closures on an anonymous forum, using many anonymous aliases to make it look as if his bigoted trolling is more popular than it really is. He does hold the record for the most number of posts in a day though, although it's not officially recognised as it was spread against 5 different usernames."

As usual an incredibly misinformed reaction - if Mrs Banker was due to give birth where does it become responsible behaviour to go and do what you want bizarre- however curtain twitching and ranting at teachers is a little less dangerous than road racing

Hey, you know those speed things that you see as you're entering various villages dotted around the island to warn you that you're exceeding the speed limit? Does anyone think they have any effect on peoples' driving habits?

No opinions on this from anyone?

Ok I'll give you all mine. I'm of the opinion that they are quite effective and people do react to the real time evidence that they are over the limit. So why the fuck don't they turn off that stupid pit lane speed indicator when the roads are open to normal traffic? I witnessed two foreign registered bikers almost come to grief at the grandstand this morning.
