Happier diner
3 hours ago, Tinpot said: I have already said this in another thread, but if a pub wasn’t busy it’s because it has nothing to offer. There were plenty of people out spending. These guys are aware the schedule was the same as last year aren’t they? The Raven isn't even open at all on a Monday 😁 Someone might be able to confirm it was shut yesterday.

Tinpot
The hospitality trade seem to forget that most other industries are put out by and/or lose money during TT and MGP. Most other industries would rather see the events shorter or scraped. Also, for all those moaning… Edited August 27 by Tinpot

Well actually we do as the Central's post quoted immediately after yours proves. Hospitality venues like to brag about how busy they are because people like to go to busy places, so it encourages more trade. But of course the Central aren't that near the Course and may actually benefit from relocated drinkers from elsewhere rather than just additional people brought to the Island. 1 2

I work in construction - when else could you get every worker to take a week off at the same time and be happy about it? Christmas is the only other time. Aren’t that near the course? It’s less than a metre away from their gable!! Glasses rattle on the bar when the classics go past. Agree, not sure there is a pub closer to the course than the central lol side of building is about 4ft from the road 😂

Amadeus
“Both were arrested yesterday after twice walking on a stretch of road between Tynwald Hill and Ballacraine.” can someone pinpoint that on a map? Also seems a bit harsh? What was the signage like? https://www.three.fm/news/isle-of-man-news/londoners-went-onto-closed-roads-twice/

Kopek
Aparently they walked on the approach to Ballacraine, not on the actual circuit. Told to remove theirselves but on the return followed the same route. They saw a Marshal and rider in this area and carried on to Peel direction. I wonder what the ACU liability would be if another rider had collided with the Marshal in this area??? I am sure there will be others to.
