Omobono Posted September 1 Share Posted September 1 speaking to a group of Marshals travelling home on Saturday after spending their usual 2 weeks on the isle of man they said they would not marshal again if everything was condensed into the weekend race period , and the races were farcical with winners being announced after 1 lap , delays every day , there is not enough flexibility in the new programme to cope with weather issues , and the organisers decision not to run motorcycles on damp or wet roads will mean its possible future TT and MGP races could be abandoned altogether , staying longer also meant that they payed considerably less for their boat fares and eventually enabled them to enjoy some decent pub food ,and a few rides out in the Manx countryside when the weather improved , 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
The Phat Tog Posted September 1 Share Posted September 1 I was chatting to a marshal on the boat home and he said that he knew of quite a few marshals that don't come anymore because of the new format. An ex-photographer mate of mine and a veteran of many MGPs has packed it in because he doesn't enjoy the new format and that coming to the IOM is too expensive for something you won't enjoy. So, if marshals and fans are packing it in then why not medics too? There was at least one family in that bunch of 30 old cheap people. Also, having travel insurance doesn't find you accommodation, nor does it fund it up front.
