Looks as if waste management, collection and recycling may be centralised and removed from local authority control. We need LGR and a drastic one. Four plus one isn’t drastic enough. Naturally all LAs are saying they know best how to run their local affairs but it’s insane to have such over-government in this day and age.

But have you any photos of these new topless/backless benches?

La Colombe
I quite like the look of that. Not very comfy looking though.

How often do you see more than one person sat there for any length of time where not having a backrest is really an issue? I like it. John Wright
Yeah. I like it as well. Room to put your Tupperware down and have a picnic. Could seat 4. Given its almost flush against the sunken garden wall lack of back shouldn’t be an issue.
Two-lane
It is more a work of art, rather than a functional item. I assume the creator of this "installation" would describe it as "a random disposition of rectangles, each, although individual, coming together to form a harmonic relationship". In my opinion, a couple of large-size, hairy-arsed, bikers sitting on the unsupported end are going to put a few cracks in one of those rectangles.

I did rather think "That looks like a Marks and Spencer version of an Anthony Caro". 1960's but blander. I can see people jumping up and down on the unsupported end just because they can. Structural cracks or hairy arsed cracks?
