Omobono
A lot of dealers in the UK and Europe wont even take a second hand electric vehicle in under part exchange , sell you a new one ! and in the first 2 years the depreciation is almost half of the original purchase price biggest fallers are Tesla ,and if it wasn't for the import restrictions on Chinese electric cars the European manufacturers would be devastated , fields full of used European electric cars parked up , nobody wants them and an affordable solution to recycling them has not yet been found if electric is the way forward then were going a funny way about it

In how many years would someone need to either scrap it or buy a new battery? And what would a new battery cost?

The electric car battery has been designed to withstand the test of time, and whilst manufacturers typically offer warranties of around eight to 10 years and/or 100,000 miles, many EV batteries last twice as long. This is comparable with the lifespan of conventional petrol or diesel cars.
