I think not.

Granted the comparison might seem extreme but there is a lot of societal damage done by people under the influence of drugs,  including suicide and murder so it’s not as simple as let people just do what they want.
 

Would you want to decriminalise the act of a member of the public carrying a firearm? You could do that, and thus instantly it would be OK for people to go around with a gun in their pocket. No criminal aspect to it then.

And yes a lot of harm can be done by those under the influence of say alcohol but that’s  not really an argument for legalising ( without proper consideration or safeguards) other products that alter your state of mind.
