Luker
Quite a surprising session at the Government Conference today worthy of a Reform UK event that wants to lock us down and stop all the pretend illegals destroying the IOM and it’s way of life. https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/id-registration-for-all-isle-of-man-residents-considered-as-part-of-crime-busting-strategy-722827 They are seriously considering giving us all national ID cards and having ANPR and facial recognition scanning at the ports and airport just because we let a few Chinese fraudsters in here. This government is an absolute fucking joke. We don’t have a pot to piss in yet these insular close the borders clowns are planning some sort of utopian locked down society that they can throw even more taxpayer cash at. Jane Poole Wilson is clearly a totalitarian lunatic who wants us all living in an open prison so that the police have even less to do by stopping our almost non existent crime before it even happens. Good stuff. I have nonissue with any of that at all, and neither would any other sane person. For the record, the closed borders thing in COVID was stupid, and not the same as this at all. 1 2

Yes but from your posting history here it’s evident that you are far from a sane person. 3

If there was any doubt in anyone's mind that this was a stupid and unnecessary idea, the forum's village idiot coming out in support will surely remove it.

Goodnight I would put money on more people not being bothered than people having an issue. The people who can’t be bothered probably have better things to do than sit here arguing with conspiracy theorists with no life. Like spend time with their loved ones. 1 2

Alanbellend
This just shows how out of touch government has got. Launching this to a load of representative comeover old fogey’s who were free on a Wednesday afternoon to listen to a load of detached civil servants explain the new ways in which they will be able to justify their jobs for another 10 years by bringing in a completely unneeded surveillance society. JPW is the most overrated and useless of the last Tynwald intake by far. Three years to come up with such complete crap that would look at home in Russia or China. 4 1 1

Let’s not forget that the decision to invite, creep and fawn over ‘Chinese Fraudstees’ was made by both our political overlords, and civil servants. The same grouping that promised us six Chinese Banks - if they ever got established on the island could you imagine the stress, the aggravation and the rules inflicted upon residents, due to negligence of our ruling classes, motivated and oblivious to normal standards. 3
