One was an old bloke at Port Soderick, I can’t recall the other just now. The first one wasn't a road accident, as such, if I remember correctly. A fool and his money.....
17 hours ago, Derek Flint said: The 40mph limit worked in Covid so maybe that is fast enough? 30 might be a bit extreme? Is there not a Blackpool forum you could join? First routinely arming the police and now a blanket 40mph speed limit. I'm not sure you really get the sort of place the island is. I'm really not sure changing the island beyond all recognition just because you came to live here (and have subsequently left) is a particularly good idea. 1 1

The people who can’t be bothered probably have better things to do than sit here arguing with conspiracy theorists with no life. Like spend time with their loved ones. So, out and about in the real world today rather than the small sample that is Manxforums…….. Nobody cares. People seem to think it’s a good and long overdue idea to be able to identify known criminals at the ports. There is a big difference between routinely armed and a specialist team The "specialist team" are coppers, and it's been suggested they be routinely armed, as opposed to armed only when there was a storm in a teacup to justify it.

Yeah, nothing to do with the lockdown, definitely the 40mph speed limit. 1

And par for the course with the embedded contradiction of a national road safety strategy based around Safe System which leaves in derestriction, and a return to normal post covid. You really are a whopper aren't you? It always amazes me how we never seem to run out of half wits to import. 1
Fred the shred
There has to be border control god knows who is rocking up on the Island. There is probably a lot going the government is aware of that we never hear about.

Oh there's plenty, but this is always much more fun. 'Beyond all recognition'? That's a bit of an exaggeration innit?
Shake me up Judy
I suspect that Derek tired quickly of the cruise down the mile late at night and the soul rot was getting to him. It ain't Vegas. He misses the cheeky and cheerful meerkats of Manx Forums and our Manx ways. Derek, you're always welcome here.

Wake Up Call
We're repeatedly told we live in a safe place. Why do we need to finance this? These draconian measures will reduce our freedoms even further. Can you seriously trust an organisation that has recently seen 2 court prosecutions for data breaches? An organisation that has no independent monitoring and chooses not to be fully transparent? These measures will creep into your personal financial business. How soon till the tax office can monitor your movements? This is another hopeless idea that is crafted by those in ivory towers who seek to create more jobs for government. The top end salaries for these new department will be eye watering and no doubt be taken by retirees on astronomical final salary pensions. Get this madness debated in Tynwald. 2
