The close borders mentals are planning a take over!

Why the costly and excessive plans and apparatus? Just ask everyone getting on the boat to furnish their passport or photocard ID, same as getting on the plane. Simple, costs nothing and we arrive at the same outcome, without the unnecessary centralised database and costly ID system and the risks that it entails.

Jane Poole Wilson’s friends in Home Affairs will be having big raging stiffies at all these proposals. As stated above many of them didn’t want us to go back to normal after the covid border checks because they had the power over peoples lives then. Because when you analyze the IOM public sector it’s largely run by over promoted status obsessed little Hitlers who want to be ruling over all their friends and neighbours to get their rocks off. Which is exactly what we saw over covid. A load of sad bastards seizing their 15 minutes of opportunity to have a bit of power in their lives.

A resident ID system is only going to be of any use if it's connected to other IOMG services, ie DHS, Manx Care etc. I think Chris Robertshaw was a proponent of that when he was Minister for Change, or whatever it was called back in the day.

As part of a standalone security system it will be expensive, very expensive.

Less people were on the roads!

See common bloody sense thinking.  Idiot.

No correlation to the 98% reduction in cars on the road?

Gary Roberts and Chris Thomas were very excited about extending their new found Covid powers to cover lots of other things.

Suicides went up though. So it's obviously linked to that too as well as the increased use of butter.

Ever thought it was linked to the fact we weren't allowed out other than for shopping and emergencies?

No, as always - it's headline figures and a slap on the back before actually thinking about it.

Funnily enough UK motor insurance claims plummeted as well. That’s what happens when you don’t let anyone go anywhere in their car. It’s got nothing to do with speed limits.

Quite a surprising session at the Government Conference today worthy of a Reform UK event that wants to lock us down and stop all the pretend illegals destroying the IOM and it’s way of life.

https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/id-registration-for-all-isle-of-man-residents-considered-as-part-of-crime-busting-strategy-722827

They are seriously considering giving us all national ID cards and having ANPR and facial recognition scanning at the ports and airport just because we let a few Chinese fraudsters in here. This government is an absolute fucking joke. We don’t have a pot to piss in yet these insular close the borders clowns are planning some sort of utopian locked down society that they can throw even more taxpayer cash at.

Jane Poole Wilson is clearly a totalitarian lunatic who wants us all living in an open prison so that the police have even less to do by stopping our almost non existent crime before it even happens.

Guy who earlier in the day was giving an online commentary on the state of Alf Cannan’s loo complains about living in an open prison

Hooked, cleaned and fried!

It was an utter fiasco,  of course. And par for the course with the embedded contradiction of a national road safety strategy based around Safe System which leaves in derestriction, and a return to normal post covid.

Besides, If my memory serves me correctly, there were two road fatalities at that time. One was an old bloke at Port Soderick, I can’t recall the other just now.
