Chinahand
Ah politicians and their attempts to wriggle out of their previous commitments. My understanding is that the UK Labour party think if you own property or shares that means you're not a member of the working people and so the Taxman cometh. So who are working people and are you one of them?

Albert Tatlock
I have a feeling 90% of people are going to be impacted badly in one form or another by this upcoming budget. Labour however do tend to stick to their main principle...that is, to piss away as much of other people's money as possible.

The reason we are in this mess is because of them and the absolute weapons who kept (and continue to do so) voting them in.

I may have bought them with money that I earned but equally I could have purchased them with an inheritance or lottery win. Being a shareholder does not mean you "work" for the income off the back of that shareholding. In fact many other people are doing the work that drivers the value or those shares and their dividends. I just have to decide when to buy or sell. Same applies with property. You may have bought the property with money earned but you are doing very little actual work if you are then making money on the back of that investment. Not only that but the chances are that the value of that property is also increasing (unless you are a slum landlord). I really don't see the fuss.
