Hunting On The Island?

I have just read this short news item on Manx Radio online...

"The first of the new look Manx hunts takes place in Glen Vine later today (Wed).

Twelve hounds brought in from a Derbyshire hunt will be in the first of what's hoped to be regular visits by off Island packs.

The event gets underway at midday at Ballawillykilley."

Is this an actual hunt that's taking place? In that I mean are foxes to be chased and slaughtered? Or is it just some ponsing around? Hopefully it is the latter.

<_<

Whilst walking the dogs on Friday night, one them caught a rabbit.

Rather than leave it in the field, or dump it in a hedge & let it rot, I took it home and they had it for their tea!

As for the so called hunts - they are drag hunts - so no foxes are killed during the process - probably because you can't really find many here, although there are rumours that one or two may still be about .

These hunts are usually the hounds against a runner (human) who drags a scent around and the hounds track him down.

its quiet funny to watch and there is no blood spilt.

Why they banned the hunts i don't know i reckon the UK will be full of rabies soon.
