(Teapot, your links don't seem to be working)

The Island is apparently 'booming' and we've never had it so good and all that blah blah,

and yet . . . .

the Isle of Man has many, many £millions of pounds floundering abut in the dark grey area :- MEA, New Hospital, IRIS, Athol Street . . etc ad nauseum.

So it seems the big boys have at last seen the writing on the wall.

Oh dear.

Let's go to the US of A and see if they can get us out of this horrendous self inflicted greedy corrupt ridden mess.

Thanks lads, and good luck.

Also missed out - "St John Bates goes to Russia" - I see another high level delegation trip on the horizon for Donnie and the boys!

From Manx Radio:

Former Clerk to Tynwald Professor St John Bates is to help draft legislation in the Russian Federation

He has been appointed as one of two experts by the Council of Europe.

The programme is expected to run for two years.

Professor Bates (pictured) will be attending a two day meeting of a joint working group in Strasbourg this week, which will be attended by a delegation from the Russian Parliament, the State Duma.

He has already helped draft legislation in Albania and the Ukraine, and his consultancy has carried out legislative training in other countries in central and eastern Europe.

As he is now an independent consultant, the only sorry thing about the story is that Tynwald failed to value him properly when he was employed by them - other jurisdictions are obviously not so short-sighted.
