Houses Open To The Public

AFAIK The Milntown Trust are responsible for the upkeep and running of the house.

 

Don't think it has anything to do with MNH but I could be wrong.

 

Correct - Milntown Trust look after Milntown House.

 

There were specific guidelines left when it went in to trust that it should not fall into the hands of government or MNH.

 

Milntown is now owned by MNH but not yet fully open to public (I can't recall any recent public opening there but then Ramsey is a long way from Peel !).

 

Milntown House is open to the public by prior arrangement and there are, I would say, tours/events happening almost bi-weekly - although they do have a public open day during the summer which is usually just the gardens.

 

Arrangements are being made over the next couple of years to provide more access.
