Re-development Invictoria Street

So, now there is a nice big hole in the facade of buildings in Victoria Street and a nice wall of blue plastic sheeting. On teh downside of the site is the old Burtons building with its white art deco facade. The owner of that building is "Brantwood Corporation" who aren't allowed to deregister it from theprotected buildings register. Brantwood say the layout of the site makes it difficult to attract a long term tenant and demolition and re-development have been considered.

but..suppose the building had been removed and demolished would the site have been incorprated into the re-development next door? what will become of the vacant site next door is it viable to develop it without use of the Burtons site? ...watch that space...

All planning decisions are now taken in public. Hopefully this will stop the mysteries happening but time will tell.

New members of planning committee were anounced this week.

Aren't Dalrymple assoc advisors to the planning com (or whom ever decides on builing protection)? Didn't they have something to do with the Neds and a post office in Ramsey? Who you know, not, what you know.....as usual then?

Are you the real Charles Flynn?

I am using my real name - God only knows why!

There was a lot about the Dalrymple's on Manx Forums in December 2004 which may need to be updated.

It seems to have a certain relevance to some who are interested in current events.
