It - Value For Money?

I believe the policy is down to staff capping. They have a cap, so if they need 3 extra staff, they hire 3 more external consultants in - rather than employ 3 members of staff.

On this basis I think the government is a nice cushy contract for most local IT companies. They send in their engineers and get a lovely charge out rate in return. Its not value for money, as certain companies exploit this, employ low paid engineers and send them out at full rate, and make a lot of cash in return.

£11 million for IT support across the whole of Government is chicken feed when compared to the spending of the Chief Secretary`her budget for 2005 was £2.6million and what does she do for this.

Mr Gelling has admitted in the keys that His Ministers have been given government credit cards, free mobiles, lap tops fax/phone machines PLUS they can claim this back on taxes ??????????? how can you claim tax relief on something thats free. Also why are the taxpayers paying the phone bills for Ministers mobiles.

What really pisses me off is that they can vote yes to spend a further £2-6million on the wedding cake but cant even think about paying for hospice care, Mr Karran has just asked why its cost a further £940k in profesional fees at the wedding cake, this is a new one

an £70 Grand for "hard landscaping" turns out to be making up the road - so how is that not a cost to the DOT?

and then there is the door to the secret bunker underneath - solid oak with a crystal door knob a bargain at £5,755.17.

an it turns out that if the supplementary monies weren't voted through then the building work would stop....but it wouldn't have done if the contract had been a fixed price one would it? with the contractor having to bear the cost over-run ....

Treasury Minister says someone should be held responsible.....well exactly who is that Mr Bell?...name the name and sack them and the relevant Chief Executive as well..you said it was incompetance.. so deal it with it as the public will probably think you should...the expression man or mouse comes to mind ...
