They were chosen for their charitable work and efforts to reduce global poverty and improve health (maybe by reducing the price of Microsoft products this would help people afford new technology). Former presidents Bill Clinton and Bush Senior were named partners of the year because of their work after the Asian tsunami - I guess it's just a working partnership and we shouldn't expect the sound of wedding bells anytime soon!
