Beckett
Hey does anyone know if there are any organised firework displays at 00:00 to bring in the New Year? Particuarly in Douglas?

Hillside
If you are thinking of something akin to TT Week and the other professional displays we do - sorry we have no bookings.
manxchatterbox
so if the Traf in Douglas is going to be the only authorised place for fireworks how many prosecutions are there going to be for people letting off without the now required permission?? Alex
Pretty sure you don't need permission as long as it's either NYE or Bonfire night time. so, in answer to your question....none.
manxchatterbox
a ha didn't know New Years Eve was included in the exemption...might let a few off myself then... just to wake up the neighbour's dogs that are kept outside in a dog pen all year round and which regularly wake me up early on a Sunday morning..a once a year pay back seems fair...besides which I don't think dogs should be kept outside in a domestic neighbourhood

manxchatterbox
yeah...like how much is it chucking it with rain right now and the two dogs are left out in the neigthbours back-garden in the dog run...if they were smaller I'd even think about taking them in myself..I can't understand why anyone would want dogs as pets but keep them outside all the time.. anyhow...who makes the best fireworks...and who makes the loudest bang ? Minxie
We had a few in our back garden just now. They were a bit louder than I expected so probably just woke up half of Onchan (I had pre warned the neighbours with animals though)

Minxie
I heard them Minxie! hehe did you see them though? They were quite good - it was just 2 big blocks that you light and off they go. Junior loves fireworks so they were for him really.

Lonan3
There were quite a few around Douglas and Onchan at midnight - not exactly massive displays or anything, nor even enough for most people to complain about - and they were all finished by about quarter-past.
