Renewable Energy Holdings, which invests in and operates windfarms and other green energy projects, plans a quick increase in the amount of power it generates.

Mike Profitt, chief executive, said the Aim-listed company wanted to go from 30MW of capacity to 50MW by the end of the year and 150MW by the end of 2007. Renewable Energy said it was acquiring the rights to a 30MW windfarm in Poland and was also setting up a windfarm in Hungary.

The latter, based in the Isle of Man and with the promisingly (perhaps surprisingly?) named Mike Proffitt as chief executive, made a loss of £1.4m in the year to June, but recently bulked up by buying 41.7MW of wind-power assets in Germany for £33m."
